Listed below are all the roles we are currently trying to fill. While some could possibly be job shared, if that is something we can offer it is listed in the job description. Apart from that all roles will be at our factory in Miami on the Gold Coast.
We are a small business based in Miami and have a team of around 13. Our team consists of tradespeople, fabrication apprentices, inventory, packaging and handling staff, CAD drafts people, a production manager, estimators, operations and documentation people and a web developer & programmer.
The factory runs Monday to Thursday from 6am to 4:30 pm. We run Monday to Thursday almost all of the year, however there are occasions where we do the odd catch up day on Fridays. Often when there are a lot of public holidays in the early part of the year, we may work Friday so we aren't behind for the Monday holiday.
We have a smoko break for 15 mins at around 9:30am & half an hour for lunch (unpaid) at 12:30 pm.
Cleanliness is very important in our work, so while our factory is older, we keep it very clean with 2 packed floors, great lighting and ventilation and open spaces for movement. Safety is very important to us so a team production meeting is held every morning where we discuss any improvements we might make to our system or processes.
We run some very expensive CNC equipment which we all take great pride in. At the end of every day the production team all pitch in to make sure the machines and space are cleaned and prepared for the next day.
We have a great smoko hut. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar etc are all provided. We have a large sandwich press, toaster and mini oven for your lunches and 2 fridges for everyone to store their food.
We have a diverse and multi skilled team. Diversity is very important to us as we firmly believe it enables us all to be better people when we work closely with others from all walks of life. Currently our team consists of people who originate from Brazil, Myanmar, Thailand & Canada along with some Gold Coast locals.

Marine Air Flow's owners have been involved in the marine industry for over 30 years.
Initially involved in the boat building industry in Western Australia, Brad Marsden (our Director) moved to Queensland in 1994. Based in Cairns he then took on the role of workshop manager for a local company that built semi submersibles for international export, and aluminium vessels for the tourism industry.
After 2½ years with this company, Brad was invited to project manage a large architectural glazing project in Singapore. This gave him the chance to combine two of his favoured mediums, glass and stainless steel. Upon completion of this project, Brad returned to Cairns and with his wife Jenny, started a local business that was responsible for specialist refit services for the marine industry. While it was a very successful business, any refit or repair business can be very stressful and often involves 6 or 7 days a week routinely.
After selling that business in 2004, at Jenny's insistance, Brad went fishing for a year. Literally! Every Monday night Brad and his mate Rod would head down to Kuramine Beach (south of Cairns) for 2½ days of fishing and golf. It was during this time that Brad started to think about what he might do next.
Always knowing he would stay in the marine industry, Brad wanted his focus to be a business style that avoided the time constraints and stress that doing marine refits gives you. Having had to develop their own ventilation equipment for refit clients through 1990-2004 gave Brad a unique insight into what could be an emerging marine market. After a decent amount of research it became clear that there was a market for Australian made, affordable, long lasting engine room grilles, air dampers (fire flaps) and fans, and Marine Air Flow was born.
All the roles we are currently trying to fill are listed below.
We are looking for a qualified fabricator to join our team. We work primarily in Aluminium and stainless steel and do no steel at all. Some experience with running CNC Machines (or the ability to learn) would be well received.
This is a full time position at our Miami factory.
Get in touch via phone, email or through our contact form and we will be pleased to assist with all your engine room ventilation needs.
